原文：I bought this Neato D3 at an incredible price here on Amazon. Not sure if I just hit the right day or if it was a temporary mistake, but after a week, I went to order some accessories and it was $100 more still here on Amazon. Back in December, I had bought the iRobot Roomba 960 and returned after a
month mostly because the edge sweeping brush was no longer working and it was getting stuck under my recliner chairs and sometimes got lost and couldn't make it back home. Having said that, there were nice features of the Roomba 960 that I really liked vs this Neato D3. But for some perspective, I paid $427.41 MORE for the iRobot (I bought the 3 year protection plan with each). So even though I liked some of the features, the $427.41 back in my pocket was worth the few things I could live without. I put a list below.Neato D3 Connected vs iRobot Roomba 960- Both work with Alexa and Google Assistant.- Both recharge and resume cleaning.- This Neato D3 model doesn't have the corner sweeping brush and the Roomba did - I liked that feature when it was working- The time to clean seemed the same for both, I don't think one was faster than the other. It does take about 2 - 3 charges to clean my whole house with one pass.- The Neato pattern for cleaning goes room to room where the Roomba has a diagonal pattern so sometimes it went into a room several times where Neato goes into a room and finishes before leaving.- The Roomba was far easier to empty bin than Neato and because I have to fight with the door on the Neato, it sometimes makes a mess over my trash can. The filter is also made of this weird cotton like fabric and everything sticks to it and I can't brush it off. I have to pull it off with my fingers. I'm hoping the replacement filters are easier to clean (they appear to be the accordian style, which I think will help).- The SELF-CLEANING brushes on the Roomba are far easier to get to then the Neato. Unlike Neato you need a special comb with built in cutter (I have to order that because it didn't come as an accessory).- The Roomba came with extra corner brush, extra filter and the virtual wall barrier. The Neato came with no extras.- The virtual wall barrier of the Roomba was great. It could be an invisible wall barrier or circular area for places like pet dishes. This was far easier than pulling out a magnetic barrier that you have to cut and/or unroll and roll up to use each time with the Neato.- The suction power of the Roomba seemed slightly better, but both pick up an incredible amount of dust, cat hair, etc. Even when I think my floor is spotless!- Both have apps that connect via wifi. What I like about Neato is it sends me notifications of if it is stuck, when it's done cleaning and a link to click the map of the area it cleaned. The Roomba 960 app doesn't send messages, you can see the map, but you actually have to go to the app and navigate to that place in the app.- Both apps let you schedule time and days.- The Roomba app gives you the ability to control 1 pass or 2 pass cleanings. The Neato only does one pass. Easily overcome if you want two passes, just set the schedule to do twice in one day.- The Roomba has the ability to sense if there is more dirt in a specific place and clean more efficiently.- The Neato has the ability to spot clean an area and the Roomba 960 did not have that feature. I would have to block off the area if I just wanted a small area.- The Roomba has a reduced power standby mode. I'm not sure how much extra power Neato is using for one little green light, but it is a feature I guess I should mention.- Both have got lost a few a times and couldn't return to base. Equally as much, but not often.- Both have got stuck and I've had to free them, but with the Neato at least I know it's stuck because I get the text message. And the Neato is slightly taller than the Roomba so it doesn't get stuck under my rocking recliners because it's too high to get under there. The Roomba was stuck every time, because she would go under and then the recliner would rock a little and that was it, stuck.I hope helps anyone who is looking. For me, yes, I would like the corner sweeping brush, the ease of emptying the bin, cleaning the brushes and the virtual wall barrier. But the $427 difference for virtually equal cleaning results was much more important. I can deal with buying the few extra accessories and the small extra work I have to do. And not to forget that I like the spot clean feature and the texts telling me the status and link with cleaning map.
