e rotary works best, and Philips Norelco has the lead. I've given my other razors to friends and family and now maintain an older, cheap model Norelco and this. The shave is good. I wouldn't say great because I've never had a razor that was great yet. It is quick, somewhat rough on longer growths, but overall a nice shave. There is one thing I have discovered in the 4 years of using electric razors. Cheap or expensive, foil or rotary, home use or travel, the style and speed of the shave differ, but the result is the same. This one has a bit larger shave head area that makes it difficult to reach certain spots like beneath the nose or in the cleft of the upper lip, usual hard to reach areas but more so with the 9400. The trimmer works a little better I believe than one that is integrated into the shaver. This due to the ease of control and different settings. I use the slow speed on the shaver. It's less battery drain and the higher speed doesn't necessarily convert to a quicker shave. Cleaning is a snap. Just rinse it out every time you shave, allow it to air dry and you're ready for the next shave. Every other week I give it a thorough cleaning with Remington shave cleaner bought in a bottle. Probably not needed but it's a preference of mine, your cleaning methods and schedules may differ. It's all up to you on that matter. So to some it up, I believe this is a good shaver. I believe, also, that you will get the same shave with a cheaper model. My experiences have proven that to me. Someone else probably will feel differently.

I hate that.* I really don't like the inconvenience detachable heads for the 2 different functions.* The snap-on/snap-off function for the attachments seems like it's going to be a weak point, and it causes concern over durability.* The chances of losing the lesser-used attachments seems too great to me. Bad planning.* The packaging was such a puff piece. I know this is sort of dumb, but this is a review, and this is where you say such things, right? The actual business of the shaver took up less than a third of the packaging, and that kind of waste and over-blown value-added visuals really bugged me.* The included "Grooming Club" wallet Membership Card made me embarrassed to own this for some reason. It was like those fake credit cards that come in the mail to entice first time borrowers, and that my 8yo daughter always begged me to play with. Whaaat? It had a web address I visited, only to find it was an info capture (address, email, name, etc.). You couldn't even enter the website without the email capture. I felt a little jerked around.[NO KIDDING - my daughter just walked past and asked what the "Grooming Club" was, and asked if she could have the card. I readily agreed.]So with all that considered, I'm starting to wonder about the price, too. Is it all puffery, without serious business behind it? I don't know. I do like some of it, but the concerns I raised about the attachments would have me avoiding buying it.

It allows for a much closer, more comfortable shave.* The Norelco runs much more quiet than my old razor. I would hesitate to use my old razor if my wife was still sleeping as it was pretty loud.If you are looking for upgrade, this is a good time to do it, and the Norelco is a great razor.

n the shower and I always thought it would break any shaver I would buy. It's nice to see a water resistant one, I have no idea if this is a new idea but it's nice to see. It ran just fine. It was weird to have to modify the way I shaved because of way the razors bent, but after a few minutes it was smooth sailing.It comes with a case if you are traveling, or I guess you can always store it in there. I has an adaptor for trimming beard and mustaches (like most electric razors). What I really liked was the battery life which was really long.If your looking for an electric shaver, this one gives a smooth and easy shave that will impress anyone.
