hes. At the top of the unrolled portion, there is a hard thing (stiff but bendy like one of those slap on bracelets, width around 1 inch) that helps with rerolling the bag consistently. There are two straps, one on each side of the bag, which hold down the roll top. They can be adjusted (the way a seat belt in an airplane can be adjusted).The bag without the roll top is just over the size of a legal sized piece of paper. The roll top is on top of that. With the roll top open, there is a big hole on top of the bag. Behind the roll top, there is a zipper. This way, you can access inside the bag even with the roll top rolled up and strapped down. You can access the back small pocket inside the bag with the outside zipper as well.That floppy roll top gets in the way, though. If rolled up, it makes getting into and outside the bag a misery. If unrolled, it flops around unattractively, and makes accessing your phone and "stuff" located in the front outside pockets of the bag a misery.The back of the bag has a strap that helps you attach this bag to carry on luggage. Behind the strap is a small slip pocket.There are four sturdy feet on the bottom of the bag.The shoulder strap is adjustable and of very good quality. It can be made small enough to carry as shoulder strap and long enough to carry as a cross body bag.Material is tough and hardy. It looks waterproof although Tumi does not advertise this. It would be great for travel or work if you liked the roll top feature. The blue color is the color of dark denim, and IMHO not that good looking.Tumi makes so. many. great bags. There is really no reason to waste your money on this one.Women - this bag can be used by a woman, but it doesn't have a unisex look, and as I said, the roll top is a useless feature. Don't bother with this.Three stars.

tablet bag. The pocket for the charger and needed wires works better, but it’s going to bulge a bit with most laptop chargers as far as I can tell. The roll-top waterproof top allows the main compartment to house any number of things, yes including a laptop if you need the larger size for yours. It won’t be convenient however because of the multiple roll turns you must unwind as well as the two adjustable side straps with clips (keeps the roll-top securely shut). For me the larger compartment, though without the nice paddied protective sides will be the one I must use if I choose to take my MacBook Pro 13”.Tumi doesn’t disappoint quality-wise on this bag. It’s beautiful fabric and waterproof leather at critical points. What this user needs is a larger dedicated laptop/tablet opening so my review must be taken with this caveat.The fabric is dense, the seams are actually welded like a high-end rain shell, the main compartment though still compact is ample,and the zippers, for nylon, are top-notch ones. There’s also places for a cell phone and writing instruments. This is specialty waterproof/repellant bag with a Tumi price and thus will be for a customer for whom the price isn’t an issue. A very high quality fabric classy looking bag that is highly idiosyncratic. Three-stars as I see it with the fourth and fifth star being reserved for the unique individual to whom Tumi has tailored this bag for of which I’m, admittedly, not actually quite congruent with.

, diaper bags.... remember that for later.I wanted to love this bag. But it's just not the most practical for an all-purpose work bag. For the price, I assume that's what you'd be purchasing it for. Unless i'm missing something, the roll top feature is absolutely pointless. I haven't used it once, because it's a nuisance. Luckily, there's a zipper behind it that allows the same access. Is it there instead of a messenger bag flap so it doesn't weigh it forward and tip? That's the only thing I can think of, but it doesn't seem like the answer.I wish the strap went straight up like my other messenger bag. Instead, it comes out at an angle. I'm sure there's some ergonomic reason for this, but I'm not seeing it. I prefer to carry it over one shoulder rather than crossbody, and it's just not a great fit.The pockets are nice. The very front slit pocket seems designed for a phone, but isn't quite big enough to fit my iphone 6s plus with it's case and close. Not a deal breaker because I still slide it in there, but good to know.It's not very big if you want to take a computer along. I should say, it's not easy to get it in or out.To sum it up, this a lovely, great quality bag that isn't very practical. So, I'm now using it as a diaper bag. A very fancy diaper bag. It really fits that purpose much better for me.
