hile traveling, the people I'm with usually communicate by text (for meeting in the hotel lobby and such). The watch prevents having to dig out the cell phone when a bunch of texts show up. Also, text responses work pretty well with the speech to text... though one thing I had to learn was that the microphone (on the top left and a bit underneath) should be brought up close to your mouth for it to work unless you're in a quiet room.2. While driving, the navigation will buzz the watch when the next turn is coming up and will also show you the next turn. Works great if you have loud music playing and you can't hear the phone.3. If your phone rings, you can see who is calling and dismiss the call very quickly by swiping on the watch.4. Lots of different watch faces, it's fun to change it every other day or so. There's a lot to choose from, I haven't gone through all of them yet..5. Looking up quick trivia on the internet, using speech to text. Works most of the time, even with proper names.6. Stopwatch for use at the gym, to stop be from cheating on my 30 second stretches. I know any watch can do this, but this watch makes it easy to start the app and the big numbers make it easy to see.7. Things in the future. I've tried all of the apps which came with the watch, most of them don't apply to me. However, I'm interested to see what clever things people will come up with.Update 09102015: I've found some more useful things:8. An update from Google gives it the ability to turn on the speakerphone on my cell phone. This helps when my phone is in a different part of the house... I can accept the call, turn on the speakerphone, and yell "just a second!" at the phone while going over there. This prevents going to voicemail when I'm too slow to make it.9. Microsoft's OneNote now works on the watch. It's great for reading a grocery list without having to hold a phone in my hand.10. Setting reminders is as simple as: "Ok google. Remind me at 9 PM to buy more stuff from Amazon".Update 02012016:11. The new "FaceDesigner" app allows you to make your own watch faces. Choose from set of items to put on the face, and then you can also move those items around. Also pick a background... I like to use my own photos of family and friends.
