rrant but after years of use and abuse, dishwasher mishaps and countless sharpenings, they finally refused to take another edge, the handles were beginning to crack and cutting a potato had suddenly become quite dangerous. I didn't want to spend the same kind of money on a new set but I hate cheap stuff too so I did a lot of researching and review reading before I made an online order for something as delicate as knives. At this price point, I really didn't feel like I would be out too much if these weren't good and if they were as good as all the reviews had said, well then, what a bargain!Well I'll just tell you, these things are a BARGAIN! They fit well in hand, balance perfectly, come out of the box razor sharp, clean up easily and best of all, cuts through potatoes and winter squashes like butter. I love these things. They have easily replaced all other knives in my block. I tossed the display box which did include a small sharpener but I prefer to use a steel, whetstone or rods to sharpen my blades so while a nice thought, not useful to me.For the price, these are most definitely worth the buy.

more lighter and a bit more sharper due the the blades being thinner. Personally being a shorter person (5'6"), I prefer something that is lighter and sharper for intricate and easy cutting. I also feel the weight is pretty well balanced on these ones.These need to be cared for. By that, I mean after hand washing these with warm soapy water, you'll need to wipe dry to the point there is no more moisture left. Not really hard to do, maybe an extra 30 seconds to wipe it dry.Lastly, it comes with a knife sharpener. Now I have owned these for several months and have yet not need to ever use the sharpener but it's always nice to have around when needed. I mean a knife sharpener costs at least $5 so deduct that from the cost and this will probably seem to cost even cheaper.

y and I like them. They came with a nice sharp edge and seem to be holding the edge so far. Workmanship in the knife is decent considering the low cost of the set. I really like that the set comes with 3 large knives too. Too many sets have limited numbers of bigger knives and a bunch of smaller ones. For my use at least its great as I primarily use larger knives. They are good enough I bought a second set.

The case they come in is not really a practical case. You would never want to store them like that. I bought a magnetic knife holder and together they work like a charm.I do not have a great deal of expertise on the subject of knives - I can distinguish sharp from dull; general quality over cheaply made, and handsome over cheap looking. This are a sharp, quality knife set that looks great as well. I would buy again.

- but after using one of them for the first time, I couldn't hold back my eagerness and excitement. Every time I open the drawer to peek at them I am satisfied and prideful in having them as my own. They are nicely weighted, easy to hold, and easy to wash. These 4 make the perfect set for me (which is what persuaded me to purchase) without any excess! It's nice to be able to store them in the box, but I do wish there were specific instructions form the brand about using their sharpener (built-in) with these knives, correctly. I'm still getting use to handling these and cutting most effectively with them, but so far quite pleased!
