Now, one of the things that is supposedly in the "CONS" column is that it doesn't have a base stand/charger/auto cleaner. One "Gizmo" blog says that your razor deserves more than just laying on the counter - I say this is absurd! I don't need an extra piece of plastic and overpriced cleaning solution. The Arc 4 is a true wet/dry and allows you to clean by turning it to the ultrasonic setting and running under water. It is as simple as can be and then it goes right back in the drawer or cabinet. Supposedly others have better charge times, but 45 mins per charge is plenty. Most shaves are only a couple of minutes.
In summation: Great value, close shave, wet/dry and easy cleaning put it over the edge. Buy and enjoy.

the added expense of the cleaning solution that evaporates away quickly from another brand that I tried a couple of years back briefly before returning to a regular razor.Also, wanted the shaving ability of the more expensive Panasonic razor so I decided upon this one without all the bells and whistles such as a second motor in the head and a display that tells you when to clean the razor and how many minutes you shaved.I simply wanted a razor that wold perform and do the job it was designed for. This razor in my opinion has far less to go wrong with it and comes with the same motor that is the Panasonic top line of razors. The most important aspect for me which I determined after receiving and using this razor, is its shaving performance which is clearly equal to what I get with a regular razor but more convenient. I do not shave wet with it but may try that in the future. I simply shave dry and clean it regularly placing a drop of oil on each blade periodically. I'm very pleased with the superior shave quality and convenience to other electrics I have tried and especially with it providing a shave equal to a regular razor.The build quality on this razor is impressive and I suspect it will last many years.

Rather than buy another set of blades we took a chance on switching to a foil razor. I can say that the shave is much closer and smoother than any of my
Norelco's, and for various reasons I have a drawer full of those. My wife love's it and that's the ultimate test.
The unit is sturdy and cleans much easier than the Norelco's. The display is easy to read. It is louder than the Norelco, but not obnoxious.
The only con is the replacement blades are much more expense than the Norelco. Hopefully these will last a while.

I couldn't believe how much I missed it. If you are on the fence, jump over and get one of these. I recommend wet (main reason to buy the Panasonic) with some kind of shaving soap or gel.
