原文: I started out with just wanting to have an IKEA tower light able to be dimmed and then decided to fill it with colored lights. Very glad I did. It soon became a bit of an obsession, where now every light in my apartment is Hue, which is over 50 lights. For my bathroom and office, I didn't go with co
lored bulbs. I'd tried colored ones in the bathroom at first but found I never wanted them so I moved those to other rooms. There are fun apps that my niece and nephews love to play with that do light shows (OnSwitch is their favorite). I've attached an image I'd put together when I first started playing with them. I combine them with the Philips Hue Tap Switch that I keep by the couch so I can quickly switch the room to presets. I have motion sensors in hallways (because who ever flips the light on then back off at the other end?) and have them set to switch on dimmer at night to find my way to the bathroom without blinding me. I've attached some extreme examples but most of the time I just have the colors set to an autumn sunset feel, not quite so dramatic. I like that during the day, you can change the color temperature to match sunlight so your lights match the light from outside, almost like skylights.
原文: Good lights. I have 8 around the living room and kitchen. Me and the wife have disco-nights where we get the hue-disco app fired up and boogie to bohemian rhapsody turned up LOUD. We live way out in the sticks and have few other entertainment options.
原文: I just purchased my second color bulb. Also have two white ambiance in the bedroom and two white lights in the TV room. First, you have to buy a Hue Bridge to get these to work. The Bridge is a one time purchase that will support up to 50 lights. Second these are expensive but giving the product
a bad review because of the price is ridiculous as is giving a bad review because a Bridge is required. Finally you have to have an internet signal to the light for it to work. Now for the lights themselves. I have these in multiple rooms, have moved lights around, and made multiple changes to the way I grouped these in the app. All of mine have worked flawlessly. We use the Echo Dot throughout our home and the lights are simple to control via Alexa as long as you use the correct name (remember a table lamp and a table light are different to Alexa). So what can you do with the Hue lights? Turn lights on/off remotely from your phone. Set colors to accent a room (great for football games using team colors). Set lights to come on when your return home so you don't have a dark house - I have mine turn when my phone shows I'm about a mile away and limit to turn on only after sunset. Just purchased a $2 app that had a fireworks program and changes the lights to your music. Adjust the colors, shades of white, and brightness from the app or through Alexa. My suggestion is to pick an area yo want to try and get a starter kit with a couple of lights. If you are like me, you will quickly come up with new ideas to add more lights to other rooms.
原文: So far so good but I think I got the newest model - 9290012575A instead of 9290012575 (note the added "A"). This newer model is slightly larger (taller) and feels significantly cheapened because the weight has been significantly reduced. It's also plastic instead of glass. Will the plastic y
ellow over time (glass doesn't)? Only time will tell.
The specs seem to be the same (lumens, color temp range, wattage) except for the newer "A" version that says it's 110mA instead of 135mA. Both are made in China and both are UL listed.
See my comparison photos.
Hopefully the new "A" version will be at least as good as the older version even though it feels cheaper.
原文: Okay. This is coming from a total geek perspective. I’m a techie, I love automating things via cool gadgets. I finally had saved enough money to purchase a set of hue lights... I have 4 bulbs, 2 strips and 3 blooms. And wow! It’s changed my entire environment... it’s a bit pricey but if you’re into
creating some mood for your home, Phillips Hue is the best.
原文: I waited on these since they were released. I couldn’t see why I would want to buy them at all. Until, I got a white one with an Amazon Echo package deal.....
The new Echo can serve as a hub......and control these bulbs......a little. I read that the Hue hub did more......and the packa
ge for four of these bulbs and a hub was on sale.
I’m now amassing bulbs. I’m embarrassed at how much money I have spent lighting my home. It makes zero economic sense......
But, WOW! I have scenes for Morning that wake me up softly and shift to an energizing bluish light. I have gentle red glows fo movie night. My colors shift to less blue in the evening.......and I honestly think it’s improved my sleep.
I give zero thought to what I “wasted” on these bulbs. They improve my life in multiple ways. My kids simply ADORE them, and play with their own scene creation. Even my light switch shutoff compulsion is better.....because they shut off automatically when I leave.
原文: They changed the bulb design to a lower quality plastic lens, that doesn’t match the older glass design. In my opinion this is no longer a bulb worth $50. It’s should be made with premium materials at this price. When they made the basic white bulbs plastic they slashed the price in half, as we
ll as clearly showing the changed product design on the box. They still show the glass bulb on the new updated box! You can tell since the plastic bulb has two layers; one white, one clear. I don’t recommend buying them right now, you will likely get two different styles of bulbs that will look terrible if the bulbs are exposed. Also a price cut could be imminent if they are cutting corners like this. (The plastic bulbs have an A at the end of the model number, you can use this to identify them before opening the box.)
