Mac-n-cheese is a staple in our home and I have spent years trying to figure out how to send it to school with my kids. Well, this Thermos food jar is the answer to all my problems! It keeps hot food hot fo
r 5+ hours!! Enough time for me to heat my child’s meal in the morning and have it still be hot for them at lunch time. Also, cold items stay cold for 7+ hours! The thermos is very durable too. The price seems high at first, but when you realize how much of a lifesaver it is, you won’t bat an eye at the price! I would highly recommend this to anyone with school aged children. I have already purchased additional ones for family and friends.

Like any thermos if you want hot food you need to heat up the thermos before you put your food in...So I boil water and fill the thermoses with boiling water to heat the co
ld metal inside. While this is happening I heat up the food HOT. When the food is ready, I dump out the hot water from the thermoses, and refill with the hot food.
After 4 hours in the thermos my girls say that their lunch food is steaming but not too hot.
Let's face it....You can't expect to get hot food from a cold medal Thermos.
Preheat it and it works like a charm!

The gasket for the Funtainer is made of a material more like plastic, but the Foogo gasket is made of something rubbery and thinker and seems to seal better. Someone did a comparison between the Funtainer and Fo
ogo, and they found that the Foogo retains heat longer than the Funtainer (The review is available on YouTube; search under "Thermos Funtainer vs Foogo Food Jar Video"). When not on sale, the Foogo is slightly more expensive but only by a couple of dollars.

Note: If you put hot food in a cold container......the container will lech the heat out of your food. That is why you need to warm the container first with the boiling water. :)

原文： I have a love/hate relationship with these thermos food jars. I finally caved in and bought them for my daughters' lunch boxes so they could have warm meals on cold days (yay for dinner leftovers!) I really hesitated at the price, because I needed 2 of them and it was going to set me back $30. Bu
t quality always wins so I did it. They are very well insulated and keep the food warm until lunchtime. They are also easy to open for little hands - my daughters are 4 and 7. BUT, within about 10 uses, the seal/gasket in the lid started to pop out every time we used these. Thankfully the girls were great at keeping track of them but it was tricky to get them back in place each time. Fast forward 1 month and both gaskets are torn to shreds. I experimented - not a good idea to use the thermos without the gasket. I contacted the company for a replacement gasket and offered to provide them with a receipt showing that I had only owned it for a month. They politely responded by letting me know where I could purchase a gasket, but declined to replace them for free. It's a fairly good quality product, but plan to buy $15 worth of gaskets every year to keep it in good working order. Would not purchase again.

原文： My daughter recently wanted to start having leftovers for lunch instead of sandwiches so we ordered her this. I read other reviews stating that their food was cold by lunch but took a chance and here is what I found. One, macaroni and cheese is almost cold by the time you put in on the dinner tabl
e, so bad choice for this. Two, you have to properly heat the thermos. I add really hot water and screw the lid on. This keeps the water hot and also heats the lid so when you put in your hot food it isn't losing heat by warming up the lid. I have put lasagna and meatloaf in the thermos and four hours later it is still warm. I microwave the food till it is hot then pour out the hot water from the thermos, quickly dry, and add food. There is no such thing as a product that will do these extra steps for you. If you want a conveniently small little thermos to fit in your lunch bag you have to treat it like a small little thermos. The extra prep time (which takes just minutes) insures a warm lunch. I would definitely buy this product again or give as a gift.
Update: My daughter wanted to bring juice to school so we tried two methods. First we filled with water and ice and let it sit for a few minutes then dumped the water and filled with juice. 5 hours later it was still cold. Second we just filled the thermos with juice and then put it in the fridge overnight and juice was cold 5 hours later. She just loves this product.
