原文： I'm now on my second AW80-1AV watch. The first one may have lasted about ten years. I had to replace the band a couple times. The watchface got scuffed from me banging it into walls (am I the only person who does that?). Also, the metallic finish on the watch itself started to wear off revealing
the grey plastic the body is made out of. Not bad for about ten years, I guess. Operation of the watch is somewhat complicated. I have to consult the user manual to change the analog time on it when we go from daylight savings to standard and back.
I'm including a photo showing the new watch and the old one.

Within 3 months the analog hands were falling behind (about 5 minutes), then the entire watch reset. I set it up again and advanced the hands 5 minutes. W
ithin 3 weeks the hands had lost 5 minutes and within the last week they've lost another 5 minutes and the watch reset the date/time again. Its not worth trying to get a replacement and I'm not going to buy a new batter for a 4 month old watch so I'm just going to buy a different one.

原文： I like these watches. They are cheap throw-aways. My last "10 yr" watch lasted about 3 years. I was tired of it anyways, as it was hard to read. White hands on white background is not good in shadows. I like the layout on this watch white on black is much easier to read. The luminous hands a
nd numbers are nice. The watch band fits nice and I have a large wrist. When it fails I will replace it with the canvas band from the old watch.
The manual that came with it is hard to read. So, go out on the web search module # and you will find a pdf copy. Download it and keep it on the computer for future reference.
The only feature I use is the world time and I keep that on London. The rest are hard to set and my Kindle handles all that info now.
This is my "house/shop" watch that saves my expensive watches from rough treatment.
I will get out my Amazon watch tools and take the old watch apart for fun.

t is a side LED not a back light. It's very hard to read anything on the watch with only the light so if you would use this a lot in the dark- don't get this one.
I didn't think it was too complicated to set the time and other features (but I did have to reference the instructions).
You can store up to 30 names and phone numbers in the watch. This would have been pretty cool 15 years ago; it's completely useless now. Also, all the world times are pretty useless too. Even if you are a frequent global traveler I don't think it's necessary. Yes, of course you can just ignore these features but it just makes more screens for you to scroll through to get to the features you want.

As a solution, I keep two watches, one with daylight savings time, and one without; so that when the time changes, I just need to reach for the appropriate watch. The watch has a light that is push button activated to see the time when it is dark. It is plastic though, so one needs to be careful not to scratch the crown of the watch, but for about $20, it is replaceable. I've used these Casio watch types for years without scratching them. With the 10-year battery, there is no need to replace the battery every year or two, necessary with other watches. The watch is a solution to various problems.

I use it as my "beater" watch when working around the house or other times my more expensive watches might get damaged.
You can NOT see the digital portion at night. The
light just illuminates the hands.
As with all my casios, the crystal scratches VERY easily (fortunately you can buff it with toothpaste).
My timexs NEVER scratch. Casio needs to improve. Their crystals or this will be the last one I buy.
And of course if ths one develops a leak, it will be the last as well.
Update (10/15):
The "10 Year" battery died after less than a year.
While changing the battery, the oring seal disintegrated (just like the last one). It wasn't waterproof after that...
I'm not going to buy another inexpensive Casio.
