So, I gave it a try. If I were just buying this as a moisturizing sunscreen, I probably would not repurchase. It did not break me out but I wish it was a bit more moisturizing. Because it is winter time, I end up applying an extra moisturizer and let it soak in a few minutes before applying the Rapid Tone Repair. I wish it had an SPF of at least 35 or higher. SPF 30 is the minimum my dermatologist recommends for me (i'm a melanoma survivor). I might drop the extra moisturizer and add extra spf come summer time.

At this point, you're probably wondering why I gave it a 5 star review at this point the mods I have to make. It's because it really did lighten my dark spots and improve my skin tone way better than serums/creams I've tried that were 4x the price. If you have melasma or healing acne marks, you know how hard it is to get rid of them. The only thing that works better than this is prescription grade hydroquinone cream. Hydroquinone cream gave me acne and made my skin red and irritated so i'm glad i found this non prescription alternative. I really wasn't expecting much from the lightening capabilities but after a few weeks, I started noticing a dramatic improvement in my skin tone to where I almost don't need foundation. It really took about three weeks for me to see a noticeable diference. I'm not sure why it works so well for some and not others. It could be hormone related? You have to religiously wear sunscreen EVERY DAY to keep them from coming back. For the cost, it's worth giving it a try. Use the whole bottle before deciding. I accidentally purchased the night version when I went to reorder. Can't wait to see of using both the day and night version improves my results.

I used this moisturizer in the past and really loved the results (although I loved it even more before they changed the formula, I've come to love this formula almost as much). The first thing that I notice when I start using it is how it instantly improves the texture and smoothness of my skin. It doesn't get rid of pock marks, but it instantly removes dry, dead skin. I notice an instant brightness in my complexion. And honestly, I feel like I see improvements in my dark spots in a few days. I've been using it again for a little over 2 weeks and this patch that I've had under my eye from picking at my skin that I assumed I'd have to go to a dermatologist for has significantly reduced to the point that I no longer have to spend 10 minutes every morning concealing it.

I use the night moisturizer only because without fail the SPF gets in my eyes and burns all day long, and makes my skin super oily. However, I just saw an article that said that using a Retinol without an SPF can age you more than if you weren't using one at all because of the increased sensitivity to the sun. So, this is something that you may want to look into and consider.

Also for comparison: I have a very fair olive skin tone. I'm half German and half African American, and I generally do not scar very easily. My scars tend to fade on their own over time.

is the bare minimum (especially in Southern California) but when I know I'm going to be outside, I supplement with a higher SPF lotion (Neutrogena makes one that's 110, but it will cause breakouts after a few hours). I also use the Rapid Wrinkle Repair variety of this moisturizer to address the fine lines on my forehead; neither formula causes breakouts, and the Subscribe-and-Save pricing is a welcome change from the much higher retail costs at the corner store.
