e added. This is a crime since I only paid $69 plus tax and free shipping a little over a year ago on Amazon. Other than that it is a great product. Since the pot last about a year I will probably just replace the whole unit with a model that comes with a stainless steel pot that won't wear out. If Cuisinart wouldn't gouge me for the pot I would definitely stick with the product. I can't figure out why they wouldn't use a better, more durable nonstick coating or a stainless steel pot or make the replacement pot affordable. Does anyone believe that the entire cost of the product is the cooking pot? Not!!! Get with it Cuisinart.

I add either frozen or thawed chicken breast and some chicken or vegetable broth and whichev
er spices/vegetables I have around, and the chicken breast becomes ridiculously tender and the broth is always rich as well. I've also made stand-alone vegetables in this, and I now regularly buy beef marrow bones to make bone broth in it. I haven't had any trouble with the unit itself. I've used the simmer and saute and high pressure settings and after the scheduled cook time, the unit automatically keeps everything warm. I've put the interior non-stick pot in the dishwasher without issue. All of the seals have been working smoothly. The pressure/release pressure valve is a little hard to read, but once you see the directions the valve points when it's pressurizing or releasing, you just go by memory. But the way they have it labeled makes zero sense.

Maybe because I came to it after using non-electric pressure cookers (with all of their inherent problems) for many years, but I found that this pressure cooker does
everything you expect and more. I have had one for about four years (not a couple of weeks, like most of the negative reviewers) and have used it extensively. It does everything I ask and more. Pressure cookers are EXCELLENT for soups, stews, beans, anything that requires significant amounts of liquid. Most negative experiences seem to result from improper cleaning - having used stovetop pressure cookers, I know you MUST take them COMPLETELY apart after using, and CLEAN EVERYTHING, including the sealing ring if you want good performance. Also, remember to put AT LEAST 1 CUP of liquid in it when you use it in pressure mode. The thing is built like a tank, and is my best buddy in the kitchen.
