I was looking for something without leather so I'm still not sure on this but if it is indeed synthetic then it is an excellent replacement material. It is sturdy, neat, trendy but with a classic look which is what I look for. I love this shoe and the actual value exceeds the price I paid for it at the time of writing this review and I expect it would increase sometime soon so if you decide to buy this early it could be a great deal.

Reduced to 4 stars because I found out the material is actual leather used for the upper part of the shoe although listed as 100% synthetic in the description. Another thing was that I found the stitching at one end on the top front part not completely tied up and has begun to get loose. I will monitor it and see how well it holds up.
