My spouse ordered 3 of these for the rest of my family, for an extended overseas trip.
After testing theirs out, and finding that the initial plasticy taste of the water went away, and I could drink from their bags without a horrid taste, I decided to get one, too. The irony is, the one I was sent gave water the strongest plasticy taste...and despite constantly flushing with fresh water, trying to get it to go away for probably over a month, the plastic chemical taste never went away. I would carry water, but no one would want to drink it, even when the other people's reservoirs ran out, and we were all thirsty. Theirs were great. You didn't feel like you were drinking yourself to a cancerous death when taking a sip. Obviously, mine was defective for some unknown reason. Amazingly, after I returned from our long trip, and told the seller my story, they immediately responded and gave me a full refund. They turned one of my most unpleasant purchasing experiences into one of the best, because they did the right thing, even when they didn't have to.
The rest of my family have enjoyed theirs. They seem well designed. We bought bite valve covers for them to keep the mouthpieces clean. Those work well, and I would recommend them. In case the big zip at the top leads you to think that you will be able to turn the bag inside out to easily dry, please be aware that down the center of the bag, the two sides are attatched with plastic. It's probably to reinforce and keep the bag from getting too fat in the center when filled, but it does prevent you from being able to turn the bag inside out. The opening at the top is stiff, too, so it is hard to open it very wide. Your hands have to be very small to reach inside to dry it with a towel, and even then it is not an easy process.
The tube snaps on and off easily from the bag, with minimal to no leakage, making it possible to thread through loops on your pack. It also pivots easily so it can face down or up without causing kinks in the tube. All the materials seem durable.
