原文： I live in Europe and this shoe brand is not really known here. You cannot buy the Lone Peak 2.0, even online. I read some reviews and decided to have a mate bring me some from the US, without ever trying them on.
OU of the box they felt heavy, compared to the Hoka Conquest or Inov8 290 Ultra.
r />I wanted to transition to a zero drop shoe as i wanted to improve my running style and forgo issues i have been having with my kneecap.
I am used to run in 4mm drop shoes, so the transition wasnt too bad for me. I practically ran them out of the box for a 10 mile run and have now gone up to 20 mile runs in them within 3 weeks.
Calves did get sore in the beginning, but my runs have between 1500 and 3000 ft of vert, so could be easier if you start the transition on the flats.
When i start a run in the Altras, they always feel a bit heavy in the beginning, for the first 2 miles maybe. Then you do not notice it anymore. You do notice them again after 10 miles, then you feel how comfortable they are.
I wish they were a bit lighter. Also they do not have good traction on a wet stoney surface. You notice that when you power hike up a steep tarmac road or steep wet rocks. You tend to slip backwards a bit.
Nevertheless i give it 5 stars, because i was able to run without any issues and without knee braces for the first time in years.
UPDATE:
I have now run continuously in the shoe since end of September 2014. I did some races in Hokas (Clifton/Conquest), though my knee issues flared up. I now only run in the Lonepeaks. I put around 1.000km on them (roughly 625 miles). Interestingly the sole is still as new. I normally have the issue, that due to over pronating on the right, the right sole wears out quicker (at 500km). Not the case here. Unfortunately the mesh holding the sole right at the point where the black rock guard ends (so on both sides of the shoe) has now two holes in them. They have popped up at around 500 miles and steadily grown. Now the shoe is unfortunately ready to be binned. I have ordered three more pairs though.
They have proven to be quick as well. I ran close to a PB on a trail marathon with vert (compared to my PB which was on tarmac and flat). The shoe was also recommended by Ian Sharman to be used at the Rocky Raccoon 100 miler in Texas. He is the record holder (sub 13hrs).
Maybe the mesh gave in, cause i ran the last three months primarily in wet and cold conditions.

drop in these for running, but now they are my go-to trail shoes. I'm actually looking forward to them wearing out for running so that I can have them for regular every day wear. They are very comfortable. I really like the wide toe box. The laces are great, and plenty long.
I'm on my third pair of Altras and they are pretty good shoes. But, I just had a defect with a new pair (not bought through Amazon) and Altra's customer service was not willing to help at all. Just something worth knowing - buying through Amazon, you'll be fine for returns, but Altra themselves won't be standing behind their product.

原文： The foot shape of the shoe is really nice and allowed me to get a better fit to my whole foot. I normally buys shoes a half size up, or order extra wide, to accommodate my foot width and for a comfortable toe box. With this design I was able to order shoe size that is more true to my whole foot.
It is an odd feeling at first, to wear a zero drop shoe. Standing still i tend to rock back on my heels. But after two days of wearing them for just work walking, and one workout, I have broken them in and find them extremely comfortable. I am curious to see how the build/construction and materials hold up. My concern is based on other reviews. I will update this review in a few months to say if they held up well.

ions when I entered the size of another pair of shoes I know fit me. I ordered an 11.5 when I often wear an 11. That said, I have run every other day in them and the only issue I have is they feel funny on my big toe when standing around because my toe curves up a little and there is a bit of rubber that runs around and over the toe of the shoe that my toe touches. This turned out to not really be noticeable when running.

I wear these shoes all day, whether at work, lounging around the house, on the trail, working in the shop, mowing the yard and whatever else is necessary on the feet. I recently bought two more pairs to sit
in the closet when these wear out. In these shoes, I have ran five trail races, two 15Ks, and and one obstacle course. I put them through the washing-machine every two weeks and they still feel great. Note: I also have Altra Torins, One2, Superior 2.0, and Olympus 1.5 and while they are great for their purpose, none of then are all around perfect like these shoes.
