he bed or not. Maybe the picture's a little better with the lights on, but unfortunately the baby doesn't sleep with the lights on. Amazon was great about letting us return it, however.

The one nice thing about it was the pan/tilt, which works fairly well.

Overall, an average product. The price seems a little off. Hard to believe I spent nearly $100 on this thing but it's been a long time since I bought a baby monitor so idk what the market for these things is like these days. I would probably recommended it. Other than the battery life, there's not really anything negative I have to say about this product.

video quality. Leaving aside the smaller screen, the video on that screen is a blurry mess.
B) Very bad sound quality. Extremely harsh and a bit echoy.
C) Very bad adjustability of both the camera and sound volume. The camera must be manually adjusted on its stand, as the remote controls barely move it. And the audio settings are very odd -- zero is silent (as expected), but then 1 bar is quite loud and from there it doesn't really get too much louder.

My recommendation, if you want a high quality video monitor, is to spend the extra dollars on the MBP36 model, or perhaps some other brand entirely. This one just isn't worth the time.

'd strongly recommend not buying these.

1. A Newborn: The picture quality is extremely granulated, and the night vision is brutal. Since my kids are older (3 and 1), I don't feel like I need a great picture of them sleeping.
2. Multiplie kids, thus using 2 or more of these. You can't place the monitors within 5 feet of each other without one of them shutting off.
3. A cell phone. Whether using your cell phone on wireless or WiFi - the signal interference locks up the monitors and then they just turn off.
4. Kids who sleep at night: The color / daylight video is fine, so if you have a kid who sleeps with the lights fully on, you'll be fine. Night vision is extremely poor, extremely poor.
5. Kids who nap: The battery life is brutal, so if you kid naps, and you forget to put the monitor on the charger after the nap, when they go to bed, you'll have barely enough charge left for you to have any semblance of an evening without the monitor beeping the most annoying beep in the world for a couple minutes before yet again shutting off.

This is basically an expensive alternative to a sound only monitor, with a very poor video feed. But at the same time, they constantly shut off due to wireless signal interference, and therefore a high quality sound only monitor would be a much better purchase.

Spend your money elsewhere.

awake or asleep. I can tell if his mouth opens wide, like in a yawn. There is no zoom function, even though some reviewers have mentioned it has one. I'm going to try to mount the camera closer to his face and see if that works and see if the pan and tilt function will allow me to view the length of his body in bed. Or possibly install a second camera for his head portion. I don't currently need it for daytime use, so can't verify if photo as shown is an accurate daytime representation. The battery doesn't last long, but the charger cord is quite long and I keep it next to my bed anyway. As the instruction book states, the screen goes black after a few minutes when it's not plugged in, but pressing any button returns the pictures. Sound is still working and it's pretty good. I'm going to try repositioning the camera when I get some help in later today and will post back and let you all know how that goes.

UPDATE: I've begun placing the camera on an over-the-bed table next to my husband's bed and within a couple feet of his face, and the video quality is now acceptable. I can see if his eyes are open or closed and can pan down to make sure his legs are covered. Being this close to the person/child being viewed, including infants, might be a problem for some people, but my husband can't move enough to reach the camera.
