原文：I own a New Balance softshell with thermal lining jacket I bought years ago which has served me well. I was initially in the market for a Spyder sweater but saw New Balance sells an approximation of it so I decided to try it out.I got Amazon Prime so it came quick, no complaints there, and the fit
was just right. I'm 5'-11", 230 (semi-athletic'ish) and the L fit just right. I'm a L in pretty much every shirt and jacket so I'm glad I didn't have any issues there. The thermal knit has a liner inside so it does a pretty decent job of cutting the wind but it can't stop it all. For me, this jacket is best for temps down to the 30s with less than roughly 10 mph wind. Once the temps drop below 20 and the wind picks up past that, forget about it, you may as well not be wearing a jacket at all.One weird thing that bothers me though is the collar so I docked it a star. The collar seems stiff to me and for some it's cool because it helps cover up the back of the neck but to me it's kind of annoying, personal preference though, especially when it's not fully zipped. It just kind of....sits there. It doesn't fall, it doesn't feel like it's hugging your neck, it's just....there. Minor annoyance though.For the price, it is a good jacket. Now, I never did get a Spyder sweater (price and all) and I've only compared the feel of both. For the feel they are quite similar but since I don't own a Spyder sweater I can't really comment on its performance. I'd still recommend this jacket though for temps down to the 30s but if you're looking to stay warm in the 20s and below, it's best to look somewhere else.
