原文：This kettle looks nice and heats water as well as any other kettle. Unfortunately it seems to have a design flaw in that there is a small steel lip just inside the pouring spout that collects water and after about a month of daily use the steel lip has developed a significant rust issue.

原文：The problem with this kettle is that the hinge for the whistle is made of plastic. If the neck gets hot, which it will if the flame is too large, the hinge will melt and the whistle will stop working. I don't recommend this kettle if you have a gas burner.

原文：I spent a long time researching this kettle, and I think it's one of the best ones out there, but it's not perfect. First, as other reviews have noted, there is a metal band (doesn't show in all pictures) that runs through the handle, and it gets HOT. And when the whistling cap is flipped back to po
ur, the steam does come back at your hand. So I would not want a child to handle this kettle right off the stove, even a big kid.That being said, if you let the kettle sit for a moment, like while getting a tea bag ready into a cup, the handle will still be hot but not so hot as to burn. The lid and whistle cover are metal, no cheap plastic parts. The color is really nice, and the enamel is easier to clean than our previous kettles. All in all, I'm happy with it.

原文：After about 10 uses the plastic hinge for the spout of this tea kettle melted, from normal use of heating water on a stove, and the whistle spout fell off. Fortunately kitchenaid has a lifetime warranty. I received a new one and sent back the original one. I can see the problem piece for the newly r
eceived kettle is still plastic and this replacement process will probably be repeated.
