I am very surprised that they did not own up to this misleading information.I did wonder why some of the textile bags in the Kendall line do disclose that the trims are not leather. Upon receiving this bag, I looked at these parts under a magnifying glass. They have the even, shallow grain and coloring of a man-made product and they have no smell. They also do not feel like leather - both in their surface and pliability. There is also a small bit that is missing the edge coating at the base of one strap and you can see that it is not leather. The main panels of the bag are leather.The bag came with many parts wrapped in tissue paper. I removed it all because it was hard to get a feel for the bag with all the white wrappings. Some of the tissue paper was imbedded in the edge coating. I assume that it was wrapped before it was thoroughly dry. Although this removed with water, it did leave rough spots. There was no dust bag.As I removed all the wrappings and tags, I will be keeping this bag. The jury is out to see how well the handles hold up over time. I am disappointed - both in the bags and in Fossil's response.
