Im not a sound expert but the Photives offered the best balanced listening experience, from podcast to classical and anything in between. Im satisfied. Also, the mic quality is pretty darn good. My wife hears me well and I can hear her clearly..... something MEElectronic's Air-Fi Matrix2 AF62 was lacking.UPDATE 4/6/14:Oddly, over the weekend, the ear-cup literally detached from the headband, see attached image. This has never happened with any of my headphones, cheap or expensive. I spoke to a rep ( 1.800.339.9960, Butterfly Photo ,just in case you wondering how to contact a rep) and he said that this is not covered under warranty because it's not from normal wear and tear. I immediately corrected the guy and mentioned that when you have a small piece of plastic attaching a rotating ear-cup to a headband, this is definitely doomed to happened. He stuck to his guns and said this incident is not covered. I gave it one last try and we concluded that I would send a picture and the company will decide if its covered. Sadly, if they cant replace these headphones, I will no longer buy products from this company and nor will they be recommended.At the end of the day, I love the sound from these headphones but they need to use better materials. Yes they are affordable but there are cheaper Sony headphones that will last longer.UPDATE 4/7/14:Kervin from Photive sent an email stating the following....."Unfortunately, our warranty does not cover any damage done to the headphones. We apologize for the inconvenience. " He also sent a link to other Photive products. He had to be joking! The product is poorly constructed and Im not going to purchase another one of their poorly built products, not happening!

n just January of 2015 (just over 6 months after I first purchased them), the power button became stuck--making it impossible for me to turn them on (a lot of good they were to me then). Fortunately, Photive sent me a new pair after I returned the broken pair to them since I was still within my 1-year warranty. Now, fast-forward to August 2015 (less than 6 months after I received the replacement pair), and the left headphone literally just snapped off when I went to put them on...obviously making them obsolete as the entire reason I purchased these was for using on the go, traveling, working out, etc., and each time I try to feed the wire back into the ear, and stick the ear piece back into its slot, it simply falls out. I have reached out to Photive now again, but because I am now outside the 1-year warranty window from my original purchase, who knows if that correspondence will be to any avail. I would honestly feel ripped off if they did not honor the original warranty since I have never been able to use this pair of headphones for longer than 6 months at a time without interruption due to what is seeming more and more like defective manufacturing. However, I am holding out hope due to how pleasant they have been to work with since my initial purchase.My reason for leaving this review is to alert prospective buyers to the very real potential that this product will break before you have really gotten the chance to enjoy these headphones for whatever your intended purpose for them is, and it may behoove you to look into the more expensive sets as these just might not be durable. I will update this post if/when I do hear from Photive, and sincerely hope others who have purchased these headphones have been luckier than I with respect to using these great headphones for longer periods of time without having them unexpectedly break on you.

ery life - I listen to them at a lower volume and only plug them in to charge over the weekends. The battery lasts 35-40 hours (the general 5 weekdays at work). Amazing! Another plus is that with the 4.0 bluetooth technology, incoming calls don't switch my music to my phone's speakers to allow the headset to ring, which was a problem with earlier versions on my phone. Speaking of calls, the microphone picks up my voice fine, even when talking very softly: it works better than my phone!EDIT: It took over a year but they finally broke due to being extended fully and worn that way all the time. Slightly disappointed, but I am used to this from headphones in general. Not knocking off a star - still a great set of headphones in general.
