e headphones when going live. If you have .5 to 1 second delay this can really mess you up. There is no delay when you plug your headphones directly into the mic. The Blue mic seems to be built very well and the sound quality also seems very good. So far so good. The Blue Yeti is Hot Hitz Radio's main mic now!!

o ship the first one back because one of the screws that holds the microphone into place was stripped out. This is not anyone's fault however it shows a possible cheapness in the product quality. Metal screws would not have stripped as easily as these screws. Otherwise the product is definitely sturdy and feels like it's a quality product. It has a nice weight to it and a really nice look to it. I do wish that the microphone had a mute button without a light on it. It actually is a bit confusing as to whether or not the mic is muted because you a red light would make you think it's muted -- not with this mic. It is not muted unless the light is blinking. Also, I really don't want another LED shining at my face while I work.Number two, the microphone itself sometimes has a hard time connecting with my iMac. Every once in a while the microphone will show up in my sound settings but it will not have any audio coming into the computer. I searched some internet forums and this is not uncommon. One workaround I have found is to open up my sound settings and leave them open - this seems to keep the mic working.Finally we can talk about the good and what should matter most when you are purchasing an expensive USB microphone and that is the sound quality -- it's excellent. If you are streaming a podcast or recording scratch audio for video production like I use it for, this microphone is really great. It has a great clarity that you would expect from a much more expensive microphone. I actually attended an SNL video editing workshop and the editor from Saturday Night Live said that there's been many occasions where the voiceover used in the spots they air on television were recorded at the editing station using this microphone.I definitely recommend getting this if you can afford it and you're looking for ways to improve your sound quality in a convenient package.Another tip, I use this mic while on FaceTime and phone calls from my computer and it sounds really nice and much better than the built in computer mic.

setting does a very good job of only picking up my voice. I also think the blackout look of the mic is a nice touch. The mic is solid feeling and heavy. The only knock against the mic is that the dials are plastic and don’t have a heavy feel to their action. This is not a problem since I don’t adjust the gain often and I don’t connect headphones to the mic.

er advice I can give on my review is this --- buy this product used if possible. I was able to score a killer deal on this microphone. The description said that it would have 'light wear and tear on it' but when I received it, these scratches were nearly imperceptible --- I doubt anyone would notice. (And really, who would since I usually record alone.) As a result, I got this microphone for nearly half the price. SCORE!Oh, one more thing. I agree with others that you should buy a pop filter and shock stand to go with this mic if you have the funds for it. While I don't notice a huge difference in the recording sound quality during playback, I do see it when I start editing and mixing the audio. So, having these accessories greatly help!

e vendor, because it came in before Christmas! Thank you! If someone out there is reading this and has the money to buy it, I highly recommend. The microphone the one who received this had, was in fine working order and it was good sound quality, but I wanted to gift it for an upgrade. I was told after Christmas that it was on a list of what he wanted to get in the future after he saved money in the coming year and that it is great!
