ll.Okay so here goes. The headset at the time of purchase was under 80 bucks. A wireless headset with 7.1 surround sound for under 80 bucks. I thought it was too good to be true but went ahead and purchased these based on reviews from many sources. My first impression was, "Whoa..."I've been using a Bluetooth headset with regular surround sound. They were 30 bucks and I knew exactly what I was getting when I purchased them. They were great for PC gaming but they are incompatible with my PS4.I plugged the dongle to these in and it immediately synced up and integrated into the PS4 popup menu(battery, mic, headset, surround sound icons). I log into Destiny:The Taken King and jump to the Dreadnaut and am blown away. Literally. There was a Cabal ship leaving the area that took a pot shot at me. I can hear everything. I mean everything. I didn't know that chests make their own noise, that resources have their own unique sounds, that gunfire that is happening in the distance can sound far away and not just quieter, the quiet pathetic whimper of the enemy right before they expire...IT'S BEEEAAUUUUUTIFUUULLLLL!!!! HAHAHAHAHAH!! HahHAhAHhaHAhahHAhHAHAHHAHA!Pros:Wireless6+hour battery lifeCan use while charging7.1 Surround soundDownloadable sound profiles(PS4)Dedicated controls for volume, game/chat volume, surround on/off, mute, two sound profiles via switchCan use with PCGood micLarge cups fit over large earsComfortable with bulky plastic glasses onThe completely drown out your gf/bf husband/wifeYou can pretend they are a tiny person giving you the hugs you missed as a childLess than 100 bucksCons:They are a little bit heavy/clumsy and can slide around your head but I quickly got used to themThe cups tend to get hot after a while so remember to adjust them once in a while to avoid swamp earThe construction feels cheap but I suppose they had to cut corners somewhereThey wont lend you money(like ever)Regarding the headset problems I mentioned earlier:I ran into the snap crackle stutter problem some people have complained about on the internet on my PC. I've not had one problem when connected to my PS4. I almost returned these immediately after unboxing(some weirdos call this "opening") them and I am so glad that I did a little troubleshooting instead. I have a gaming laptop that I semi-built myself. It has an Haswell i7, a Geforce GTX850m and 16 GB of ram. I have everything on SSD drives and this thing handles anything thrown at it. So when I started getting stutter crackle problems I was like, "WTF?" I tried changing my routers channel, I killed processes. I ripped my hair out. I said a prayer to RNGesus. No solution, Turns out the culprit was GameScannerService.exe which is a useless piece of bloatware that everyone who has installed Razer software on their PC has running.To disable it simple go to Task manager->services->[OpenServices] button -> find Razer Game Scanner on the list ->doubleclick -> Startup type-> set to disabled. (Thank you dark_skeleton). Don't furget to kill it in the running processes if you haven't restarted your computer. As a further precaution I suggest that no one ever buy from Razer. Their products are fraught with problems and their support is unsupporty.Thank you for taking the time to read my review. things. So I bought the headset anyway.Huge mistake. The headset is literally in mint condition. I have a small head, so there isn't much torque being exerted on the headset when I put it on, and I store it in a firm headset case whenever it is not in use. Last night, one of the hinges snapped. Literally no idea how, but it is quite obvious that the material used to make this headset is sub-par at best.BUY A DIFFERENT HEADSET. Don't make the mistake I did and assume that everyone else was full of crap. They're not. The plastic is light and cheap. You could treat it like it's your own child and it will still eventually break.As you can see in the picture, the headset is in phenomenal condition. It's too bad, because it is a comfortable headset with decent audio.

S3 for 2 years were great on that console but are passable on a PS4.The setup up is brain-dead simple and the sound is amazing. I primarily have these for Black Ops 3 and have always relied on directional sound when playing (Yes, one of those annoying players). I'm able to determine directions and distance pretty accurately with these. They are so precise that I'm hearing things that I've been missing like mice scurrying and squeaking across the floor or the wind blowing sheets of paper across the street. I'm actually distracted at times at discovering the new sounds as opposed to focussing on playing the game.My only wish is that they would connect to the console without the USB dongle. It's a minor nit for the quality of sound and low cost.

rk OK. Its comfortable. Its wireless. It works with Windows 7 on PC (excellent!).Cons: I did expect it to be bassier on the bassier setting. I am also disappointed with the range and it's choppiness when moving around. I was expecting I could get to the kitchen (probably 15-20 ft in an open living room/kitchen layout) from the PS4 to watch shows while I do dishes, but sadly it cuts out quite frequently. The two volume adjusters are also confusing, in that one limits the other. I spent a week wondering why the volume was so low until I looked into it further and found there were two volume buttons. This is probably more user incompetence than anything but worth mentioning!Overall the Gold Headset is a nice set that was definitely worth the prime day deal. Did I need it? No. Would I buy it for the full amount? No. But it certainly makes gaming sessions more exciting and adds some immersion into my games.
